Position Overview

The Assistant Spa Manager oversees all spa operations and assists with monitoring and record keeping of spa sales, costs, and profits; participates in and promotes marketing activities; communicates regularly and efficiently with management on all operational aspects.

The Role

A. Deliver Service Excellence

1. Oversee spa reception, reservations, retail and back of house areas

2. Deal with dissatisfied or disgruntled guests

3. Verify completeness and accuracy of financial report at the end of shift

B. Deliver Operation Excellence

1. Ensure therapists are booked and treatment rooms are used to the maximum potential

2. Follow up on spa packages, special requests and VIPs

3. Strive to meet all Spa KPIs

C. Manage Self and Team

1. Organize and conduct monthly trainings for spa staff

2. Ensure Forbes standards are practiced at all times

3. Deal with disciplinary issues of spa staff

4. Assist with the recruitment and selection process of spa staff

5. Liaise with Director of Spa and Wellness on retail initiatives and incentives

Talent Profile

1. Minimum 3 years experience in similar capacity

2. Self-starter and self-motivator with technical aptitude

2. Awareness and sensitivity to the concept of luxury and quality

3. Knowledge of spa operations, current trends and holistic concepts that relate to wellbeing

4. Knowledge of specific spa industry applications is desirable

5. Commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures in relation to the spa
